Category Management Director
Also referred to as: Category Management Director, Category Directory, Category Management and Insights Director, Category Research and Metrics Director, New Product /Brand Director, Product Category Strategy and Promotion Director
Requirements and Responsibilities
Directs the overall category management operations and strategy. Leads the design, development, and implementation of category management strategies to deliver a strong product value proposition with the end user in mind. Builds strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to drive category initiatives to help meet top and bottom-line targets for the company. Implements metrics and KPIs to monitor category performance, track progress against goals, and identify areas for improvement. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to senior management. Manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. Typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function.
