Requirements and Responsibilities
Develops, leads, and executes a comprehensive enterprise-wide internal auditing strategy, function, and practice adhering to auditing standards and regulatory requirements. Establishes the auditing governance framework and procedures to attain long-term auditing objectives. Directs the creation of annual audit plans. Engages with other functions across the enterprise, like risk, finance, information technology, and security, to facilitate audits. Delivers audit reports to leadership and recommends enhanced controls or processes as needed. Sets goals for the auditing team and builds expertise with coaching and developmental initiatives. Requires a bachelor's degree. Requires a Certified Public Accountant (CPA). May require Certified Internal Auditor (CIA). Typically reports to top management. Manages a departmental function within a broader corporate function. Develops major goals to support broad functional objectives. Approves policies developed within various sub-functions and departments. Typically requires 8+ years of managerial experience. Comprehensive knowledge of the overall departmental function.
