Requirements and Responsibilities
Develops, prepares, and maintains functional, configuration, and user interface documentation for computer software and hardware products. Produces foundational manuals, release notes, user documentation, and online instructional content. Documents enhancements or changes to a product or process using a standardized style and structure. Researches, reviews, and collects all related technical information to be reflected in the documentation. Uses a variety of editing, content management, diagramming, screen capture, and other documentation tools. May require a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a supervisor. Occasionally directed in several aspects of the work. Gaining exposure to some of the complex tasks within the job function. Typically requires 2-4 years of related experience.
