| Requirements and Responsibilities |
| Manages the planning and design of manufacturing, assembly, fabrication, and machining processes for a production facility. Implements policies and procedures to ensure manufacturing processes, equipment, and products comply with safety requirements and quality standards. Collaborates with product design, quality, operations, and supply chain teams to ensure products and processes are manufacturable and scalable. Establishes and maintains standard operating procedures, process documentation, work instructions, and process control plans. Investigates production issues to develop solutions that minimize downtime and prevent future occurrences. Evaluates facility machinery and tools to ensure optimal functionality, effectiveness, and reliability. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director. Typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. Typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience. Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments. |
