Data Science Director

Requirements and Responsibilities
Directs the identification and utilization of large data sets to identify trends, patterns, and key business insights. Develops data mining, cleaning, and aggregation processes and frameworks to prepare data, implement data models, conduct analysis, and develop databases. Oversees and aligns data science initiatives with business objectives and ensures data insights are integrated into business activities and operating strategies. Maintains collaboration with senior stakeholders to understand problems, needs, and identify new opportunities to leverage data. Remains up-to-date on trends and developments in AI, machine learning, and data engineering. Typically requires a master's degree in computer science, mathematics, engineering. Typically reports to senior management. Manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. Typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function.
