| Requirements and Responsibilities |
| Investigates, evaluates, and settles property and casualty claims to determine coverage, liability, and damages in accordance with policy terms. Inspects or reviews loss details, estimates, and supporting documentation to assess the extent of damage and exposure. Determines coverage and liability by analyzing policy provisions, statements, and investigative findings. Negotiates settlements with claimants, attorneys, and vendors within established authority limits. Establishes and maintains accurate reserves and documents all claim activity in the claims system. Ensures compliance with state regulations, fair claims practices, and company guidelines. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. Occasionally directed in several aspects of the work. Gaining exposure to some of the complex tasks within the job function. Typically requires 2-4 years of related experience. |
