Metallurgical Engineer V

Requirements and Responsibilities
Designs and initiates processes for the manufacturing of metals from ores. Reviews metallurgical data and makes recommendations for equipment and process design. Performs analysis and tests to aid in the development of new and improved metals and alloys as well as their applications to various products. Investigates and resolves metallurgical issues to improve process efficiency. Requires a bachelor's degree in engineering. Typically reports to a manager. Works autonomously. Goals are generally communicated in "solution" or project goal terms. May provide a leadership role for the work group through knowledge in the area of specialization. Works on advanced, complex technical projects or business issues requiring state of the art technical or industry knowledge. Typically requires 10+ years of related experience.
