Vice President of Risk Management oversees the planning and analysis of an organization's risk management function. Responsible for the efficient execution of strategies, controls, and measures to monitor and mitigate the risk exposure of assets. Being a Vice President of Risk Management monitors the effectiveness of procedures to identify points of improvement. Reviews financial models to understand the risk exposure of an organization's assets. Additionally, Vice President of Risk Management develops training and educational materials to identify and mitigate risks. Promotes organization-wide understanding of risks and risk management strategies. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to top management. The Vice President of Risk Management manages a departmental function within a broader corporate function. Develops major goals to support broad functional objectives. Approves policies developed within various sub-functions and departments. To be a Vice President of Risk Management typically requires 8+ years of managerial experience.
