Requirements and Responsibilities

Shop Service Supervisor oversees the repair and maintenance of heavy equipment including engines, hydraulics, and transmissions. Leads service technicians in removing, disassembling, replacing, cleaning, and/or reassembling components. Being a Shop Service Supervisor helps service technicians diagnose issues and select the proper tools and protocols for assignments. Maintains inventory of replacement parts, tools, and equipment required for operations. Additionally, Shop Service Supervisor typically requires a high school diploma. Typically reports to a manager. The Shop Service Supervisor supervises a small group of para-professional staff in an organization characterized by highly transactional or repetitive processes. Contributes to the development of processes and procedures. To be a Shop Service Supervisor typically requires 3 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. Thorough knowledge of functional area under supervision.
