Requirements and Responsibilities

Radiological Surveillance Technician III performs and documents routine radiation and contamination surveys to detect radioactivity levels. Ensures all meters and monitoring equipment is correctly calibrated and maintained. Being a Radiological Surveillance Technician III may assist in distributing and collecting personal dosimeters or conducting safety training. Follows standard procedures to respond to and report incidents. Additionally, Radiological Surveillance Technician III typically requires a high school diploma or equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor. The Radiological Surveillance Technician III independently performs a wide range of complex duties under general guidance from supervisors. Has gained full proficiency in a broad range of activities related to the job. To be a Radiological Surveillance Technician III typically requires 5-7 years of related experience.
