Requirements and Responsibilities

Plumber III inspects, repairs, installs, modifies, and maintains plumbing fixtures and piping in heating, water and drainage systems. Identifies plumbing and safety problems applicable to the installation and takes necessary corrective action using appropriate parts and tools. Being a Plumber III complies with all required safety, building code and inspection requirements. Reads and interprets blueprints, specifications, and other instructions. Additionally, Plumber III has completed required apprenticeship. Typically requires a high school diploma. Typically requires Master Plumber status. Requires a State License for plumbing. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Plumber III works independently within established procedures associated with the specific job function. Has gained proficiency in multiple competencies relevant to the job. To be a Plumber III typically requires 3-5 years of related experience.
