Requirements and Responsibilities

Nurse Practitioner - Home Care examines and treats patients independently and in autonomous collaboration with other health care professionals in a home care setting. Ensures proper illness and injury care and disease prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and recovery. Being a Nurse Practitioner - Home Care may prescribe medications and order diagnostic tests. Advises patients about continuing care. Additionally, Nurse Practitioner - Home Care requires a master's degree in nursing. Requires an RN license and a Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner (CRNP) certification. Typically reports to a manger or head of a unit/department.
