Requirements and Responsibilities

Flight Operations Supervisor manages day-to-day aviation operations focused on operational efficiency and compliance with regulatory and organizational operating policies, procedures, and standards. Coordinates plans and schedules skill development and training sessions for pilots, crews, and operators. Being a Flight Operations Supervisor ensures all operations follow and comply with current FAA regulations, airworthiness, and safety standards. Supervises flight scheduling, aircraft maintenance, and inspection operations. Additionally, Flight Operations Supervisor applies risk management best practices for safety to assess and manage operations. May require a bachelor's degree or equivalent. Typically reports to a manager. The Flight Operations Supervisor supervises a group of primarily para-professional level staffs. May also be a level above a supervisor within high volume administrative/ production environments. Makes day-to-day decisions within or for a group/small department. Has some authority for personnel actions. To be a Flight Operations Supervisor typically requires 3-5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. Thorough knowledge of functional area and department processes.
