Requirements and Responsibilities

Facilities Planning Senior Manager leads the design and planning of building or refurbishment projects focused on effectively utilizing spaces and resources to support the organization's physical facility and space needs. Evaluates current facilities to assess short-term and long-term space needs and conduct feasibility studies. Being a Facilities Planning Senior Manager develops designs, layout plans, specifications, and standards that comply with building regulations, industry best practices, and organizational requirements. Directs the development of cost estimates of labor, materials, and services used for planning, budgeting, and contracting. Additionally, Facilities Planning Senior Manager establishes project plans and a project governance framework to oversee construction and installation activities. Typically requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent. Typically reports to a director. The Facilities Planning Senior Manager typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. To be a Facilities Planning Senior Manager typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience. Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments.
