Aircraft Electrician
Also referred to as: Avionics/ Electrical Technician, Aviation Electrician
Requirements and Responsibilities
Installs and repairs electrical wiring and/or cable on aircraft in adherence to established specifications. Cuts and strips wire, insulates connections, and performs all other duties necessary in the installation process. May maintain manuals and maintenance documentation. May be required to verify accuracy and quality in accordance with established control procedures. Requires a high school diploma. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. Has gained proficiency in multiple competencies relevant to the job. Works independently within established procedures associated with the specific job function. Typically requires 3-5 years of related experience, or may have 2 years experience plus an associate's degree, or additional training or certification.
