Operating Systems Programming Manager

Requirements and Responsibilities
Oversees a staff responsible for the development, installation, and modification of computer operating systems. Develops policies and procedures related to the deployment and maintenance of the organization's operating systems. Explores the future operating system needs of the organization and provides technical leadership to the operating team. Requires a bachelor's degree in area of specialty. Typically reports to a top management. Typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. Typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience. Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments.
