Requirements and Responsibilities
Special Education Teacher instructs special education students in a classroom setting. Prepares lesson plans and instructional materials designed to meet needs of individual students. Being a Special Education Teacher evaluates and monitors student's performance and may implement therapeutic programs for students. Requires a bachelor's degree. Additionally, Special Education Teacher typically reports to the principal. The Special Education Teacher gains exposure to some of the complex tasks within the job function. Occasionally directed in several aspects of the work. To be a Special Education Teacher typically requires 2 to 4 years of related experience.
