Requirements and Responsibilities

Refinery Operator II controls equipment systems that process natural gas or petroleum into specified products. Responsibilities include monitoring pressure and flow and reading gauges and adjusting valves as needed. Being a Refinery Operator II may be responsible for identifying and correcting problems in the refinery process. Requires a high school diploma or equivalent. Additionally, Refinery Operator II typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Refinery Operator II works independently within established procedures associated with the specific job function. Has gained proficiency in multiple competencies relevant to the job. To be a Refinery Operator II typically requires 3-5 years of related experience.
