Manufacturing Manager
Also referred to as: Manufacturing Process and Technology Manager, Manager of Manufacturing
Requirements and Responsibilities
Plans, schedules, and manages one or more manufacturing production processes. Assists with planning and directing an efficient layout of equipment and flow of materials. Ensures manufacturing performance, volume and quality goals are met by utilizing efficient methods and maintaining appropriate staffing levels. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a unit/department head. Manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. Extensive knowledge of department processes. Typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 to 3 years supervisory experience may be required.
