Requirements and Responsibilities

Field Service Director directs field service activities to provide effective on-site support and technical assistance with various products or equipment. Plans and develops policies and procedures for on-site installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of products/equipment to ensure proper function and maximize uptime. Being a Field Service Director reviews service contracts and directs support services. Develops methods, guidelines, and policies to facilitate efficient service delivery. Additionally, Field Service Director reviews service reports to monitor service performance and enhance customer satisfaction. Ensures all customer issues are satisfactorily resolved, utilizing engineering, manufacturing, and other teams as needed. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to senior management. The Field Service Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. To be a Field Service Director typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function.
