Requirements and Responsibilities

Accountant IV maintains financial records and ensures that financial transactions are properly recorded. Ensures the accuracy of entries to ledger accounts and reconciles subsidiary ledger accounts to the general ledger. Being an Accountant IV prepares complex balance sheets, profit and loss statements and other financial reports. Analyzes current costs, revenues, financial commitments, and obligations incurred to predict future revenues and expenses. Additionally, Accountant IV may guide or review the work of support staff. Requires a bachelor's degree in accounting or finance. May require Certified Public Accountant (CPA) credentials. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Accountant IV work is highly independent. May assume a team lead role for the work group. A specialist on complex technical and business matters. To be an Accountant IV typically requires 7+ years of related experience.
