Requirements and Responsibilities
Plans and directs all aspects of an organization's environmental management activities. Develops strategy for complying with environmental regulations and minimizing the organization's impact on air, land and water quality. Identifies environmental issues that may affect the organization or its employees and develops plans for corrective actions. May represent the organization at various government and industry-wide meetings. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a top management. Manages a departmental function within a broader corporate function. Develops major goals to support broad functional objectives. Approves policies developed within various sub-functions and departments. Typically requires 8+ years of managerial experience. Comprehensive knowledge of the overall departmental function.
