Assistant Pastry Chef
|
|
Assists the Executive Pastry Chef in the daily activities of the kitchen, including menu development, inventory and purchasing of supplies, and cost control. Responsible for the production and presentation of pastries and other baked goods. Oversees the activities of the pastry staff in the absence of the Executive Pastry Chef. Requires an understanding of federal, state, and local food sanitation regulations. May require a bachelor's degree in area of specialty and 4-6 years of experience in the field or in a related area. Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks. Leads and directs the work of others. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected. Typically reports to an Executive Pastry Chef.
