Physician - Pain Medicine
|
|
Specializes in the treatment of pain management. Examines patient to determine discomfort levels and causes of pain. Recommends tests to determine extent of pain, help diagnose condition, or manage pain. Provides relief from acute or chronic pain through the use of medications, nerve blocks, electrical stimulation, or other therapies. Requires a degree in medicine from an accredited school and is licensed to practice. May require at least 2-4 years of anesthesiology experience. Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks. May report to a medical director. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.
