Pathology Assistant
|
|
Under the supervision of a pathologist assists with preparing and dissecting surgical specimens. Prepares and selects tissue samples for analysis. May record findings or sterilize equipment. Requires a bachelor's/master's degree from an accredited program and 0-2 years of experience. May require certification as a pathologist assistant. Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures. Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks. May lead and direct the work of others. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected. Typically reports to a pathologist.
