Nursing Director
|
|
Administers the nursing program in hospital, nursing home, or other medical facility to maintain standards of patient care; advises medical staff, department heads, and administrators in matters related to nursing service. Recommends establishment or revision of policies and develops organizational structure and standards of performance. Interprets policies and objectives of nursing service to staff and community groups. Requires an advanced degree in nursing and is licensed as a registered nurse. May require at least 8 years of experience in the nursing field. Generally manages senior professional staff. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Typically reports to an executive.
