Professor - Accounting - Higher Ed.
|
|
Conducts college-level courses in the field of accounting. Areas of instruction include accounting, bookkeeping, and auditing. May be responsible for preparing and delivering lectures and leading classroom discussions. May administer and grade examinations or delegate the task to others. Conducts research and case studies in field of interest and may publish findings in trade journals or textbooks. May offer independent study opportunities to students. Requires a doctorate degree in area of specialty, tenure, and at least 12 years of experience in the field or in a related area. Typically this individual is a leader in the field and has been published. Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures. Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks. Leads and directs the work of others. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected. Provides consultation and is considered to be the top level contributor/specialist. Typically reports to a department head.
