Chief Medical Technologist
|
|
Oversees and administers a variety of chemical, bacteriologic, and microscopic tests. Devises work schedules and allocates duties to laboratory staff. Verifies accuracy and validity of test results. Instructs trainees in procedures and techniques of performing tests. Requires a bachelor's degree, professional certification, and at least 5 years of experience in the field. Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures. Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks. Leads and directs the work of others. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department.
