Job Description

Recreational Therapist
|
|
Plans and directs medically approved recreational programs for patients. Organizes activities according to the patients' capabilities, needs, and interest. Advises patients to get involved in leisure activities. Prepares reports for patient's physician describing patients' symptoms and reactions to therapeutic programs. Requires a bachelor's degree and a license/certification to practice from the National Council of Therapeutic Recreation Specialists. Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks. A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required. Typically reports to a manager.
