Correctional Officer
|
|
Responsible for enforcing rules and regulations in a prison, jail or other holding facility. Responsible for prisoners awaiting trial or those who have been convicted of a crime. Oversees prisoner conduct and safety. Supervises prisoners during meals, recreation, work and other daily activities. Documents violations and takes appropriate disciplinary actions. Requires a high school diploma or its equivalent and 0-2 years of related experience. Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. Relies on limited experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks. Works under general supervision. A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager.
