Chief Medical Officer
|
|
Directs the staff and programs of the organization's medical and nursing programs. Works closely with hospital staff, department directors, and physicians to ensure that the highest standards of quality and service are maintained. Oversees the implementation of quality improvement efforts designed to improve clinical performance and maintain compliance with JCAHO, HIPPA, and other accreditation standards. Requires a degree in medicine from an accredited school and is licensed to practice. Typically requires at least 15 years of clinical experience. Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures. Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of complex tasks. Leads and directs the work of others. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is required. Typically reports to top management.
