Vendor Quality Control Manager manages the evaluation and monitoring of vendor operations to ensure products and services comply with government and company quality standards. Oversees audits and establishes testing procedures. Being a Vendor Quality Control Manager sets KPIs, metrics, specifications, processes, and policies used to evaluate quality. Reviews and negotiates service level agreements to ensure performance/quality metrics, responsibilities, expectations, and penalties are defined. Additionally, Vendor Quality Control Manager creates systems and frameworks to identify, track, and resolve vendor quality issues and develop performance improvement initiatives with partners. Develops strategies to identify and assess potential new vendors. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director or head of a unit/department. The Vendor Quality Control Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Vendor Quality Control Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required. Extensive knowledge of the function and department processes.
