Requirements and Responsibilities

Signal & Image Processing Engineer V designs, develops, and tests mathematical algorithms used to analyze and process signal and imagery data. Applies signal and image processing principles and mathematical methods to develop image capture systems. Being a Signal & Image Processing Engineer V develops the concepts, requirements, architecture, prototypes, algorithms, and models for systems. Performs extensive testing and validation of designs using simulation and modeling software and tools. Additionally, Signal & Image Processing Engineer V conducts research and studies to create innovative approaches for solutions and products. May require a PhD. Typically requires a master's degree in electrical engineering, mathematics, computer science, or related discipline. Typically reports to a director. The Signal & Image Processing Engineer V works autonomously. Goals are generally communicated in "solution" or project goal terms. May provide a leadership role for the work group through knowledge in the area of specialization. Works on advanced, complex technical projects or business issues requiring state of the art technical or industry knowledge. To be a Signal & Image Processing Engineer V typically requires 10+ years of related experience.
