Requirements and Responsibilities

Safety Representative IV outlines and implements training programs to educate and inform workforce on work safety, environmental safety, and accident prevention regulations and procedures. Develops and distributes educational materials including videos, guides, and posters. Being a Safety Representative IV provides expertise and advice to management on complex and critical safety concerns. Tracks and documents accidents to understand causes and recommend changes to prevent future accidents. Additionally, Safety Representative IV performs inspections and audits of facilities, equipment and processes recommending corrections or additional precautions to ensure compliance to established regulations. May coordinate the work of other safety reps. May have responsibility for all safety/environment programs at a small company or a region at larger companies. Has a broad and current knowledge of all government and applicable industry safety regulations. Typically requires a bachelor's degree or its equivalent. Typically reports to top management. Safety Representative IV is a specialist on complex technical and business matters. Work is highly independent. May assume a team lead role for the work group. To be a Safety Representative IV typically requires 7+ years of related experience.
