Production Control Director directs the overall strategic and tactical production control planning, scheduling, flow of materials, and monitoring to achieve goals and objectives for delivery dates, output quality, volume, cost, and optimization. Develops scheduling and methods to allocate and control resources and materials effectively. Being a Production Control Director establishes monitoring tools and processes to identify and plan for problems with waste, inefficiencies, and inventory in production operations. Recommends improvements to production technology and processes. Additionally, Production Control Director collaborates with internal and external stakeholders to develop effective planning methodologies and best practices. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to top management. The Production Control Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. To be a Production Control Director typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function.
