Requirements and Responsibilities

Physician - Pediatric Cardiology detects and treats heart and blood vessel disease in infants, children, and teenagers. Conducts physical exams, which may include an X-ray, electrocardiogram, Doppler echocardiography, exercise testing, or blood tests. Being a Physician - Pediatric Cardiology detects abnormalities, plans treatment, and refers critical patients to a cardiac surgeon. Requires a MD degree from an accredited school. Additionally, Physician - Pediatric Cardiology requires a valid state license to practice. May report to a medical director. Physician - Pediatric Cardiology's years of experience requirement may be unspecified. Certification and/or licensing in the position's specialty is the main requirement.
