Requirements and Responsibilities

Network Security Senior Manager manages an organization's network security department. Oversees network security assessments and risk analysis, and makes and evaluates recommendations to improve network security. Being a Network Security Senior Manager manages departmental responses to security incidents and breaches, and ensures policies and procedures are in place to handle incidents quickly and effectively. Stays abreast of the latest network security trends and technology and creates initiatives to incorporate new security products and solutions in network platforms. Additionally, Network Security Senior Manager establishes training procedures for network security analysts on relevant networks, tools, policies, and procedures. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director. The Network Security Senior Manager typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. To be a Network Security Senior Manager typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience. Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments.
