Network Security Manager manages a network security team. Leads network security assessments and risk analysis, and makes recommendations to improve network security. Being a Network Security Manager investigates security incidents and breaches. Stays abreast of the latest network security trends and technology, and recommends appropriate security products and solutions for various network platforms. Additionally, Network Security Manager trains network security analysts on relevant networks, tools, policies, and procedures. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director or head of a unit/department. The Network Security Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Network Security Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1-3 years supervisory experience may be required. Extensive knowledge of the function and department processes.
