Medical Records Technician

Requirements and Responsibilities
Organizes and evaluates patient medical records for an office. Reviews medical records for accuracy and completeness. Abstracts and codes clinical data using standard classification systems. May require an associate's degree or its equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. May require Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT). Gaining or have attained full proficiency in a specific area of discipline. Works under moderate supervision. Typically requires 1-3 years of related experience.
