Requirements and Responsibilities

Market Access Manager manages a team responsible for creating and executing comprehensive market access strategies. Implements an integrated marketing strategy to deliver a strong product value proposition with the end user in mind. Being a Market Access Manager manages the creation of marketing materials that communicate the unique attributes of the drug/medical device to external stakeholders including payer and trade channel recommendations. Provides strategic recommendations for pricing, patient access, reimbursement, and health systems strategy to support expanding the accessibility of the drug/medical device. Additionally, Market Access Manager requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director. The Market Access Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Market Access Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1-3 years supervisory experience may be required. Extensive knowledge of the function and department processes.
