Library Assistant IV supports library circulation and processing operations and assists library users in locating materials and using library systems and tools. Reshelves returned books and materials and updates the library information system. Being a Library Assistant IV maintains user account and access data and processes special requests for materials. Performs routine cataloging processes. Additionally, Library Assistant IV assists with maintenance and update processes for library databases, software, and systems. May perform clerical tasks related to book purchasing and payments. Requires a high school diploma. Typically reports to a supervisor. The Library Assistant IV independently performs a wide range of complex duties under general guidance from supervisors. Has gained full proficiency in a broad range of activities related to the job. To be a Library Assistant IV typically requires 5-7 years of related experience.
