Being a Furnace Technician inspects, cleans, and maintains melting and holding furnaces and follows all material melting specifications. Adjusts settings to ensure the furnace operates at the ideal temperature and pressure for efficient melting processes. Additionally, Furnace Technician follows strict safety protocols and wears required protective gear. Requires a high school diploma. Typically reports to a supervisor. The Furnace Technician works under moderate supervision. Gaining or has attained full proficiency in a specific area of discipline. To be a Furnace Technician typically requires 1-3 years of related experience.
