Fire Inspector
Also referred to as: Fire Inspector, Fire Safety Inspector
Requirements and Responsibilities
Conducts inspections of new and existing buildings to ensure compliance with fire and safety codes. Prepares reports and issues violation documents and defines remedies. Conducts fire investigations. Knowledge of codes and ordinances, construction and alarm systems. Has completed fire inspection training and may require certification as Uniform Fire Code Inspector and /or other local licensing. Typically requires AS degree. Has gained proficiency in multiple competencies relevant to the job. Works independently within established procedures associated with the specific job function. Typically requires 3-5 years of related experience.
