Requirements and Responsibilities
Responsible for the estimation of all costs of projects including raw materials, labor, equipment, tools, and transportation. Researches and evaluates suppliers to ensure bids meet the organization's standards of price, quality, and timing. Reads blueprints or architectural drawings to determine necessary resources for projects within budgetary constraints. Helps determine necessary resources for projects based on cost estimates and budgetary constraints. May require a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. Gaining exposure to some of the complex tasks within the job function. Occasionally directed in several aspects of the work. Typically requires 2 to 4 years of related experience.
