Requirements and Responsibilities

Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) Operator operates CMM equipment to perform measurement, inspection, and testing of production materials and components using previously prepared inspection programs. Mounts or installs tools, attachments, fixtures, or work pieces on CMM. Being a Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) Operator performs in-process or final inspections. Documents and reports non-conforming materials as required. Additionally, Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) Operator reads and interprets blueprints and specifications. Requires a high school diploma. May require certification in Metrology. Typically reports to a supervisor. The Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) Operator works under moderate supervision. Gaining or has attained full proficiency in a specific area of discipline. To be a Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) Operator typically requires 1-3 years of related experience.
