Computer Forensics Analyst IV performs forensic analysis on computer systems and servers. Investigates cybersecurity incidents using digital forensic techniques and tools. Being a Computer Forensics Analyst IV collects, preserves, and analyzes digital evidence. Recovers emails, databases, and other potentially lost or compromised data. Additionally, Computer Forensics Analyst IV documents and reports on findings, and recommends next steps. Evaluates the organization's digital forensic tools and procedures and recommends and implements potentially valuable changes. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. The Computer Forensics Analyst IV works autonomously. Goals are generally communicated in "solution" or project goal terms. May provide a leadership role for the work group through knowledge in the area of specialization. Works on advanced, complex technical projects or business issues requiring state of the art technical or industry knowledge. To be a Computer Forensics Analyst IV typically requires 10+ years of related experience.
