Chemical Plant Operations Manager manages chemical processing operations. Establishes and implements standard operating procedures (SOP) and in process quality check protocols used to identify and resolve issues during processing. Being a Chemical Plant Operations Manager monitors operational metrics to ensure production schedules, output standards, and targets are met. Leads investigations and determines the root cause of any production delays, disruptions, or quality excursions and implements solutions. Additionally, Chemical Plant Operations Manager ensures that operations comply with environmental and safety regulations. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director or plant manager. The Chemical Plant Operations Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Chemical Plant Operations Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required. Extensive knowledge of the function and department processes.
