Requirements and Responsibilities

CAD Support Technician IV provides computer-aided design (CAD) support. Creates drafting files from notes or sketches, assists engineers and designers with the completion of drawings, and executes CAD file modification. Being a CAD Support Technician IV collaborates with engineers, designers, and drafters to understand the requirements of the initial designs. Transforms initial rough product designs into working documents using CAD software. Additionally, CAD Support Technician IV reviews engineering drawings and designs to ensure adherence to established specifications and standards. Collaborates with design originators to resolve discrepancies between original drawings and final CAD designs. Maintains deadlines, goals, and production standards set by the department. Requires a high school diploma or equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor. The CAD Support Technician IV independently performs a wide range of complex duties under general guidance from supervisors. Has gained full proficiency in a broad range of activities related to the job. To be a CAD Support Technician IV typically requires 5-7 years of related experience.
