Requirements and Responsibilities
Assembles, maintains, and repairs various medical equipment. Tests the functionality of equipment and takes accuracy, sensitivity, and selectivity measurements. Assists medical staff in operation of equipment. Typically requires an associate's degree of biomedical engineering or electronic engineering. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. Typically requires Biomedical Equipment Technician (BMET). Has gained proficiency in multiple competencies relevant to the job. Works independently within established procedures associated with the specific job function. Typically requires 3-5 years of related experience.
