Requirements and Responsibilities

Behavioral Health Supervisor supervises the treatment of patients with emotional, mental, or psychological disorders. Leads a team performing psychological and behavioral assessments for patients. Being a Behavioral Health Supervisor ensures behavioral analysts design and implement effective behavior intervention plans. Conducts reviews and audits to ensure compliance with clinical policies, guidelines, and regulations, and to improve the effectiveness of those policies. Additionally, Behavioral Health Supervisor implements training programs and supports and supervises staff. Typically requires a bachelor's degree in psychology or related field. May require Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA). Typically reports to a manager. The Behavioral Health Supervisor supervises a group of primarily para-professional level staffs. May also be a level above a supervisor within high volume administrative/production environments. Makes day-to-day decisions within or for a group/small department. Has some authority for personnel actions. To be a Behavioral Health Supervisor typically requires 3-5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. Thorough knowledge of functional area and department processes.
